Recognition Summary
Wood is a stable natural building material. Wood harvesting and reforestation are sustainable activities. Forests absorb carbon dioxide through photosynthesis. Canada Custom Shutters actively promotes reforestation programs by purchasing lumber that is sourced from North American forests. This helps to mitigate global warming. Installing interior wooden shutters by reflecting light and insulating your windows will lower heating and air conditioning costs, reducing the carbon footprint. It is a lower cost, passive solution that is easy to install with little or no maintenance.

Wood Reforestation - while many companies in the “value added” wood products sector are sourcing products where sustainability is not in the forefront, Canada Custom Shutters’ products are created from North American timber renowned for some of the best forest management initiatives in the world.
Canada Custom Shutters does not utilize any chemicals on the Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPS ) list as generated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
The company also utilizes low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). These are paints, stains and solvents – chosen for its ecologically sound composition. Canada Custom Shutters has opted to utilize HAPS free low VOC coatings and the company promotes that – at present - these are the greenest choice available for application. They are constantly looking at new innovations in both HAPS and VOCS.
