Recognition Fees

Cost-Recovery Operating Structure:
The Green Check program is administered by a national non-profit and remains independent of any government entity.  The costs related to product /service review, program administration, promotion, consumer education and product/service evaluation are recovered through modest fees collected from participating companies and organizations.  Any surplus funds will be used for environmental education related to schools, colleges, universities and youth-related organizations.  Program grants for schools and institutions and community groups and/or bursaries will be made available as the program continues to develop. See the 7 R's.

The Green Check program has purposely made recognition fees affordable for companies and organizations of any size.

Fees:
To ensure the program is widely accessible to all companies/organizations, small to large, fees are kept as low as possible.  To ensure the program is not used to leverage increased prices, the fee structure is very low in relation to the cost of marketing a company/organization’s product or service.  The fee structure considers many variables such as the extent of program involvement by the company or organization.

Fee Schedule:
There are two parts to the fee paid by companies: a one-time only Recognition Process Fee and an Annual Recognition Fee:

Recognition Process Fee - The evaluation fee is paid by any company that wishes to include a product/service in the program.  The fee covers the cost of compiling the profile (for the Green Check website, network and “linking” and media distribution).  This fee is paid when the company or organization submits its application for inclusion and consideration by the Green Check program. This is a one-time only fee for the company or organization.  Site visit fees will include a per diem charge, or provided receipts for transportation and accommodation costs, associated with a site visit.
(* Additional costs may be necessary if specific photos or videos are requested by the participating company or organization. This would enhance, if warranted, the company/organization profile.)

Recognition Fee - The Recognition Fee is paid annually per operational aspect or goal/objective displaying the Green Check symbol and  recognition message.  The fee helps to cover the overall program costs.  In return, the company can participate in the educational and promotional aspects of the program and may display the Green Check logo and program message for marketing and external communications.

The fee structure is based on a sliding scale.  This scale varies based on the size of the market in which the licensed product/service is sold or distributed.  Companies and organizations, with the Green Check program will determine how and where the Green Check symbol and message is utilized.   A Memorandum of Understanding will be created with regards to the recognition fee.

This ensures that all companies/organizations, regardless of size, have various fee options available.  These encourage additional product/service goals and objectives, translating into a healthier environment. Making A Difference Environmentally (MADE) will become a social norm.

The Green Check Recognition Program is committed to providing clear and helpful information about environmental changes and improvements.  It is also committed to providing more awareness and education through its programs.
